Work-Life Integration
The Link between Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility and Personal Fulfilment?

Work-life balance sounds great in theory.  But how can you hold down a busy career job and still have great relationships and time for golf?  And what’s in it for employers to accommodate employees’ outside commitments and ‘be flexible’?

Successful, satisfying and productive lives are not so much about a balancing act as about making conscious choices for how we integrate all the parts of our lives. For organisations, being effective and socially responsible is a key aspect of corporate social responsibility.  It involves a serious consideration of their role in creating strategies to accommodate employees’ work/life integration and the symbiotic nature of organisations within the wider environment.   To ensure an effective link between individual performance and corporate outcomes, a paradigm shift is required from work-life balance to work-life integration. What is work-life integration?

And as an individual, is your own life out of balance?

Do you spend too many hours at work?

Is there conflict between your work and personal life?

Are you tired of the juggling act?

Developing satisfaction across the different aspects of your life begins with identifying the Myths influencing the life you want to live.  Myths are unquestioned assumptions which hoodwink us into believing that our choices are limited or that we must choose from a limited array of options. By identifying these Myths and their role in your life you can choose who you want to be within the parameters that you alone dictate.

It is a Myth that Work as we experience it now – the linear career of 9-5 and beyond, five days a week in a physical location is the only option.  By examining your own Myths regarding the juggling act we so often create, you can evaluate your choices and choose the life you want to live. What are the myths?
